Volunteer Opportunities

Many St. Johns parishioners lend their time and talents to ministries and organizations working to improve our church, our community, and our world. If you’re interested in doing the same, contact the parish office at office@stjohnswilliamstown.org and inquire about volunteering with the following ministries and organizations:

Tent of the Beloved, a chance to share conversation, coffee, prayer and love with whoever comes by, Tuesdays, 1-3, outside All Saints, North Adams

Friendship Center Food Pantry, providing groceries once a week in North Adams

Berkshire Food Project, cooking and serving lunch weekdays at the First Congregational Church in North Adams

Wheels for Wellness, giving rides to neighbors without the means to get to medical appointments

Altar Guild, meeting Saturdays at 9:00 to set the altar for Sunday services

Coffee Hour, providing coffee and food after the 10 o’clock service

Gardening Team, keeping our grounds beautiful and eco-friendly

Choir, rehearsing on Thursday evenings and singing at 10:00 on Sundays

The Feast, providing a meal for college students for their Sunday evening gathering

Take and Eat Meal Delivery, cooking, baking and delivering a monthly meal to elders

Youth Ministry, providing education and activities for children and young people

Friday Folding, folding and assembling the leaflets for Sunday services and helping Dawn with other office projects 

Healing Prayer team, praying in pairs as requested after communion at the back of the church

Giving Tree, providing gifts for local children at Christmas

Let Us Pray, daily prayer for those who request it, each member of the team praying once a week

Facilities Committee, overseeing care of our physical plant

Lay Eucharistic Visitors, taking communion to shut ins

Worship Assistants (LEMs, lectors, intercessors, ushers)
